Yesterday morning brought us sunshine and high surf. The waves were crashing on the rocks, and the sound was heavenly.
Naturally, we were slow-going. I looked for sea glass. We had some breakfast, and then I thought that taking a cruise in the harbor would be nice. Relaxing. Zen-like.
So that’s what we did. I reserved us a spot on this schooner, and we were set.
The minute we set foot on that boat, it felt like a little bit of an escape. And it was.
The Little Miss got to help raise a sail, and Mac was absorbing every minute.
We zig-zagged through the harbor. Saw a few beautiful sailboats and yachts.
We welcomed the ocean spray and the salt air, and we enjoyed ourselves.
I think Mac put it best: “Mommy, this is way better than running errands.”
A couple hours after we got off the boat, we were greeted with this sunset. Breathtaking.

What a wonderful trip – the sea air always knocks me out can’t wait to take the kids on their first boat rides this summer.
