It’s the end of an era.
Tonight, David Letterman is signing off of late night comedy, and I’m in good company with whom has a feeling of sadness.
I grew up watching Letterman. As it was my life-long dream to live in New York City, I not only loved Dave’s comedy, but I also identified with his love and passion for the city. When I fulfilled that dream of living in NYC, I not only lived close to the Ed Sullivan Theatre, but I worked close by as well.
Dave was the first late night comic back on the air after September 11th. After watching the tragic event implode outside my office window, I shared with America the sadness that was deafening. Dave resurfaced his comedic act with grace and gentility. He came back when he knew America needed a little levity.
His laugh out loud interviews and Stupid Pet Tricks were of course favorites, but it was his Top Ten List that I lived for each night. So I thought today I could pay homage to his Top Ten List with a Top Ten List of my own, with links. Here it goes:
Top Ten Projects Completed by Be Fed Again:
10. – Ch Ch Ch Changing a pink bathroom.
9. – Adding a much needed window to the den.
8. – Gutting and remodeling the half bath.
7. – Creating a home for my cookbooks.
6. – And she’s painting her stairway to Be Fed Again
5. – Kitchen fireplace gets stoned.
4. – Because all mudrooms should be pretty.
2. – Curing the winter blues with a total kitchen transformation.
And the number 1 project completed by Be Fed Again:
1. – Bringing classic Americana to our barn.
I will sorely miss watching David Letterman every night, but I know his legacy lives on.
David Letterman, my hat is off to you.

No tears shed here. David was/is too arrogant for my blood. I never found is "inside" jokes funny, and found his philandering with interns typical of some in power positions. Sorry, but he can’t leave soon enough for me!

I too will miss "Dave". His brilliant humor, his humanness, he may have flaws, bit don’t we all!! I don’t know who I will watch on late night tv. I’m afraid that no one can compare. He set the bar so high, the rest of them just look silly. Way too soon! STAY!!!!

The other day, there was an I Love Lucy marathon. I guess we can expect a Letterman marathon soon. You have inspired me to create my own top ten list.
